The actor who played Farmer Hoggett and starred in the movie Babe is James Cromwell. As a result of what he learned about meat production in the course of making the movie, he made a decision—to eat no more animal products. He explains, “If anyone ever realized what was involved in factory farming they would never touch meat again. I was so moved by the intelligence, sense of fun, and personalities of the animals I worked with on Babe that by the end of the film I was vegan… I now don’t eat anyone who would run, hop, fly, or swim away if she could.”
The National Pork Producers Council is disturbed by this turn of events. James Cromwell is only an actor, they’d like us to think, and doesn’t understand how things are done. They tell us their version of how hogs are raised, and it’s different from one described by James Cromwell and other animal advocates… – Excerpt from book; ‘THE FOOD REVOLUTION – HOW YOUR DIET CAN HELP SAVE YOUR LIFE AND OUR WORLD’ by John Robbins, page 199.
