🌍 Climate Change Community – Shared Terms of Service & Community Agreement
“A living agreement for people who refuse to look away, together for a thriving planet.”

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to all spaces and projects under Climate Change Community LLC, including but not limited to:

  • Climate Change Community (cCc)
  • Climate Tribe Social
  • SDL5.org
  • Any future connected sites, circles, or projects run by Climate Change Community LLC

Even if this agreement appears on only one site, it covers all of them.

By visiting, reading, subscribing, or participating in any of our spaces, you agree to these Terms and to our shared culture of care.

Our core focus is Adaptive Resiliency, from the standpoint of both self and collective preservation, in the middle of a worsening Climate Emergency and Ecological (Green) Emergency. We are here to help people prepare, adapt, and take action—together.

1. Who We Are & Why We Exist

We are building an evolving home for Self- and Collective-Preservation. Our spaces are designed for:

  • Learning and unlearning
  • Emotional and mental support
  • Strategic action and collaboration
  • Art, music, and ethical creativity
  • Facing the Climate and Ecological (Green) Emergency with honesty and courage

We welcome people who:

  • Respect science, truth, and empathy
  • Care about justice, dignity, and the protection of life
  • Want to respond to this era with courage, not denial

These Terms are not just paperwork. They are a living agreement between people who refuse to look away, and who want to protect one another while we work.

2. Our Shared Principles

We welcome people from many backgrounds—activists, students, teachers, parents, elders, artists, technologists, and everyday citizens.

We stand firmly against:

  • Hate, harassment, or discrimination of any kind
  • The spread of misinformation or denial of established science
  • Behavior that divides, manipulates, bullies, or harms others

We honor diversity as a source of wisdom:

  • You may challenge ideas; you may not attack people
  • Disagreements are expected; disrespect is not accepted
  • We respect people’s chosen gender identities, pronouns, and spiritual or non-spiritual paths

We do not debate people’s humanity.

Our spaces exist to support:

  • Those who are grieving, confused, or newly awake to the crisis
  • Those who have been mocked or silenced for caring “too much”
  • Those on the front lines of Climate and Ecological (Green) disruption

3. Required Conduct: How We Treat Each Other

To keep our spaces safe and constructive, you agree to:

Respect Others

  • No bullying, personal attacks, hate speech, or harassment
  • No slurs, “jokes” that target someone’s identity, or gaslighting
  • No doxxing, threats, or targeted campaigns of harm

Protect Privacy

  • Do not share private information about yourself or others
  • Use caution when posting sensitive details about your location, work, or identity
  • Respect that some members and moderators may choose anonymity for safety reasons

Stay Relevant

  • Keep discussions connected to:
    • Climate action, Ecological (Green) protection, or justice
    • Resiliency and Adaptive Resiliency, from the standpoint of both self and collective preservation,
    • Ethical innovation, education, emotional intelligence, or community care

No Spam or Unapproved Ads

  • No mass promotions, chain messages, or irrelevant links
  • No commercial or self-promotion unless clearly allowed in that space or approved by moderators

Follow the Law

  • No illegal content, incitement to violence, or encouragement of crime
  • No content that exploits, abuses, or endangers others

Practice Compassion and Curiosity

Before posting, ask yourself:

  • Am I trying to understand, or just trying to win?
  • Am I reacting out of anger and fear, or responding with care and clarity?
  • Am I making space for others to be heard?

Failure to follow these expectations can lead to warnings, pauses, or permanent removal, depending on the seriousness of the behavior.

4. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination & Harm

We uphold Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as a core part of Climate and Ecological (Green) justice.

You may not use our platforms to:

  • Promote racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, xenophobia, or faith-based hate
  • Question whether certain groups “deserve” equal rights
  • Run “debates” that target people’s identities or existence

Harassment, boundary violations, and repeated patterns of contempt are grounds for immediate removal. Public trust in our spaces depends on our willingness to protect one another.

5. Privacy, Security, & Digital Safety

We take your privacy and digital safety seriously. While no digital system can be perfectly secure, we commit to acting in good faith, learning publicly, and improving as better tools become available.

Our general practices include:

  • Avoiding hidden trackers, fingerprinting tools, and behavior-mining cookies
  • Carefully limiting third-party services and avoiding invasive surveillance systems
  • Performing regular security backups where possible
  • Never selling your personal data or browsing history

If a security issue arises:

  • We will share what we reasonably can, as soon as we can
  • We will work to restore stability and reduce harm

We also encourage members—especially activists and vulnerable communities—to build their own digital safety skills. Some spaces, like Green Tech Café, exist specifically to support this.

6. Green Tech, AI, and Advertising

We believe it is hypocritical to address the Climate Emergency using only systems that deepen it.

Where possible, we:

  • Advocate for Sustainable, Renewable-Powered AI (“Green AI”)
  • Explore tools and providers that reduce fossil-fuel dependence
  • Use AI systems (including “Eva Garcia,” our AI Assistant) in ways that serve people and the planet, not just profit

We do not promise perfection. We do promise to keep asking hard questions and adjusting our tools over time.

Advertising Boundaries

If we host advertising, it will be:

  • Clearly marked as advertising
  • Limited in placement and frequency
  • Aligned with sustainability, justice, and social responsibility

We will not allow:

  • Dark-pattern ads
  • Manipulative or predatory offers
  • Ads that deny science or undermine the communities we serve

7. Membership, Moderation & Removal

Our spaces are serious spaces for serious times. Membership is a responsibility, not just a “follow” button.

Membership may involve:

  • Direct invitations, personal referrals, or small-group meetings
  • Paid or free tiers that support the work and keep us independent
  • Participation in circles, calls, or community projects

By taking part, you agree:

  • To participate in good faith
  • To avoid drama, cruelty, and manipulation
  • To accept moderator and leadership decisions designed to protect community safety

Climate Change Community LLC and its designated moderators may pause, restrict, or remove access—without refund—if your behavior harms others or violates these Terms.

We do not enjoy removing people. But we will, when necessary, to protect those who are here to learn, collaborate, and heal.

8. Community Projects & Educational Goals (2025–2026)

Our projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Green Affiliate Programs that allow members to earn income by sharing our work, helping keep the platform independent and community-powered
  • A member-supported Financial Assistance Fund, especially for those facing hardship linked to Climate or Ecological (Green) disruption
  • AI Education & Oversight, helping members use AI tools ethically, safely, and in service of the planet
  • Book clubs, workshops, and a living e-book on Adaptive Resiliency, from the standpoint of both self and collective preservation,
  • Spaces like Green Tech Café, emotional and mental health circles, and Elder & Culture circles

Projects may change, expand, or close based on capacity, safety, and community needs. This does not change the spirit of these Terms.

9. Staying Informed in a Time of Silence and Spin

In this critical era of our escalating Climate Emergency, mainstream media often softens or buries the scale of danger. Staying informed now takes real effort.

We strongly encourage members to follow independent, climate-focused sources such as:

  • The Crucial Years (Bill McKibben)
  • Inside Climate News
  • The Energy Mix
  • DeSmog
  • more…

You do not have to read everything. But Adaptive Resiliency also depends on what we know and how honestly we face reality. Choose at least one or two trustworthy sources and stay engaged.

10. Not Professional Advice

Unless clearly stated, content in our spaces is for education, art, reflection, and mutual support. It is not professional legal, medical, financial, or mental health advice.

You are responsible for your own decisions and actions. When needed, please seek qualified professional support in your region.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms are a living agreement.

We may update them over time to reflect:

  • New features or tools
  • Better security and privacy practices
  • Lessons learned from community experience
  • Shifts in the wider Climate and Ecological (Green) reality

When we make meaningful changes, we will make a reasonable effort to share an update notice. Your continued use of our sites and spaces means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Closing Note: A Shared Ark of Care

We are not simply building websites. We are building an ark—not of wood or myth, but of:

  • Wisdom
  • Emotional maturity
  • Collaboration
  • Non–fossil-fueled intelligence
  • A deep commitment to Adaptive Resiliency, from the standpoint of both self and collective preservation,
